PRI Founder Chairing Autonomous Vehicle Standards

With the pace at which autonomous vehicle technology is accelerating, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) has established the On Road Autonomous Vehicle Standards Committee to help define standards for this nascent technology. Perrone Robotics’ fielding of two autonomous vehicles into the DARPA Grand Challenge and DARPA Urban Challenge competitions have established the company as an early player in this emerging technology space. Since then Perrone Robotics has been involved with a wide variety of autonomous research robot and commercial robotics/automation projects further pushing the envelope of their general purpose robotics and automation software platform known as “MAX“. Paul Perrone of Perrone Robotics was nominated chairman of the committee and is currently helping organize meetings and coordinate discussion among the industry’s most talented and knowledgeable body of experts on autonomous vehicles.
