Perrone Robotics wins 3rd Duke Award

Perrone Robotics was once again honored to receive a Duke Award from Oracle and the Java community for their innovative work in using Java RTS for our Pennsylvania Turnpike Laser-based Vehicle Measurement System. For 8 years, Oracle has given 10 Duke Awards away per year for innovative applications of Java technology. With over 2.5 million Java developers, we’re honored and humbled to receive this award. Our first Duke was for our fully autonomous dune buggy, the DARPA Grand Challenge vehicle Tommy, in 2006. Our second Duke was received in 2009 for our work on LincVolt and was also a Gold Duke award and Lifetime Acheivement Award. Perrone Robotics’ Brian Geiger and Jim Ryan were at this year’s JavaOne 2010 show to receive the awards and participate in an on stage keynote demonstration.
