Kids Learn About Robotics and Tech Careers at PRI
Perrone Robotics hosted local students for tours and talks about robotics and careers in technology. This is not the first time PRI has been a stop on the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC) Tech Tour. This year AC Capehart and Geoff Hoekstra presented and demonstrated some of the company’s technology to local high school students as well as students from Byrd Elementary.
Students got a chance to try to evade perimeter security system designed for a nuclear power plant, as well as meet Tommy Jr., the autonomous vehicle developed by PRI for the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge. You can read more about the tours in Charlottesville’s newspaper The Daily Progress.
