In the summer of 2007, a film crew from the Discovery Science channel were embedded with Team Jefferson working on their DARPA Urban Challenge vehicle Tommy Junior. Team leader Paul Perrone, a small crew of engineers from Perrone Robotics, and small crew of students from the University of Virginia were filmed as they took Tommy Junior from a stock vehicle to fully autonomous robotic car in less than a year's time. The resulting footage was run in the 6 part series Robocars which originally aired on the Science channel in the summer of 2008. Since then the Science Channel periodically re-runs the show. Team Jefferson's pre-race prep was featured for about a half hour in Episode 1. Team Jefferson at the race was featured in Episode 4.
