Tommy at JavaOne Show and Keynote

Tommy was featured at the 2006 Sun Microsystems conference. In addition to being awarded a Duke Award, presence on the show floor, and test runs around the Sun Microsystems campus, Tommy graced the stage for James Gosling’s keynote along with Tommy’s inventor Paul Perrone from Perrone Robotics. The auditorium held anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 people as Tommy was driven onto the stage to much fanfare. Paul and James discussed the technology behind Tommy and the humble story of his beginnings to his heroic efforts at the DARPA Grand Challenge.
