Perrone Robotics supplies Autonomous Transit Van to the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute

Perrone Robotics is pleased to announce a new engagement with the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) to deploy Perrone Robotics' TONY-based all-electric, ADA-compliant, and FMVSS-compliant autonomous transit van to operate at VTTI's facilities. VTTI's impressive facility boasts over 12 lane miles of roads, the ability to create unique weather scenarios, and some of the latest V2X technology.

VTTI will leverage the wide range of autonomous vehicle (AV) capabilities the TONY AV platform has to offer. The primary use of the vehicle is research to explore advanced vehicle automated and electric systems within the commonwealth and beyond in support of VTTI’s mission to save, lives, time, money, and protecting the environment. Perrone Robotics is thrilled to be collaborating with VTTI researchers and staff to demonstrate and further enhance the safety and reliability of AVs.
