On November 11th 2016, Paul Perrone, founder and CEO of Perrone Robotics Inc., gave a TEDx talk at the fourth annual TEDx Charlottesville. TEDx supports independent organizers who want to create TED-like events in their communities to share inspiration, ideas, and knowledge to spark conversation and connection. This year’s theme was “The Power of One” meant to showcase how one person, one idea, one choice, or even one second can change lives.Paul’s talk “The Robocars Are Coming” highlighted how autonomous cars are just the start of the robotics revolution. Perrone Robotics began developing autonomous vehicles with its entries in the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge and 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge.  Further evolution of our software led to the development of our MAX robotics platform, and our MAX-Auto platform for autonomous driving applications.  Because of the breadth of autonomous applications that can be developed with our platform, we are excited for where this could take us. The point is, the future of robotics and autonomous (driverless) cars is bright, and it all began with the power of one, our founder, Paul Perrone. Not only was it an honor for Paul to be asked to present at such an uplifting event, but it also gave him a chance to share the power of robotics and our hopes for the future of the robotics industry, including driverless cars. This has been a big year for the company – the recently-announced investment from Intel Capital will help us to commercialize further our MAX software platform and to move forward with our vision for the future. We are thankful for what has evolved from the power of one, and are excited for what’s to come!
