Leading the Way: Perrone Robotics' Approach to Automated Vehicle Deployment

In the ever-evolving landscape of autonomous technology, Perrone Robotics stands at the forefront, pioneering a unique approach to automated vehicle deployment. Our journey began with patented methods for creating vehicle-agnostic, hardware-agnostic, and highly configurable and modular software defined automated vehicle solutions, dating back from 2006 to current day. Customers benefit from being able to showcase and market exclusive claims to innovative automated vehicle deployments backed by our patents, which not only differentiates their offerings in the market but also instills confidence in the reliability, quality, and uniqueness of their solutions.

At the heart of our approach lies a focus on geo-fenced autonomous vehicle operations, utilizing FMVSS-compliant vehicles retrofitted with our innovative TONY AV Kit. Developed meticulously and carefully refined for over 20 years, this methodology has been ingrained in our operations since our earliest deployments, commercialized for production release years ago as the the TONY AV kit and piloted across proven deployments, leading to fleet-level deployments today.

While others attempt to follow suit, we have not only proven the model but have perfected the technology for this focused approach. Our commitment to safety is evident in our dedication to leveraging existing FMVSS-compliant vehicle platforms, distinguished from experimental and unproven newly developed bespoke purpose built shuttle platforms touted by others. While we have a long 20 year history and were the first to deploy autonomous vehicles into public transportation operations using FMVSS, ADA, all-electric, and Buy America compliant vehicle platforms with our patented vehicle-agnostic retrofit approach, others are just now catching up and have to navigate a minefield of complex technical, safety, and legal hurdles to proven success.

Today, we are scaling our automated operations across a variety of platforms, currently leading the way with the Ford E-Transit passenger van, 40-foot battery electric buses, and diesel buses; but also have existing integrations with a portfolio of all electric passenger vans and smaller neighborhood electric vehicles. These deployments, spanning both public and private sectors, serve as pilots and fleet-level implementations of our technology.

Crucially, Perrone Robotics stands apart as the only autonomy company eschewing reliance on large investment dollars that enable delivery at a loss. We’ve seen the story play out time and again with an over reliance on unproven technological approaches, backed by large investments, only to falter with an inability to deliver under the weight of unwieldy large teams and research driven versus customer and business driven economics.

Instead, we have developed an economic AV kit that permits scalable use with a tangible ROI for customers. Operating on a cash flow-positive basis and sales growth, we are now scaling our operations with fleet-level deployments and multiple deployments, catering to level 4 automation as well as level 2 and 3 ADAS solutions for transit vans, buses, and cargo vans.

While others may tout the promise of their future based on research and still unproven claims, Perrone Robotics remains grounded in customer- and production-oriented work, and proven technology. As we continue to methodically expand the boundaries of automation across vehicle platforms and applications, our focus remains unwavering: delivering real-world solutions that make a tangible impact on the mobility of people and things.
