DARPA Robotics Challenge on the Table

Perrone Robotics has been exploring the concept of participating in the DARPA Robotics Challenge. A recent news story featuring quotes from the company founder can be found in Signal Magazine. Leveraging their MAX software platform, Perrone Robotics has what it thinks is a novel mobility design and teaming approach involving hardware vendors in the manipulator arm space. An internal project currently, efforts are underway to determine if the minimum investment required to initiate development efforts can be raised. An austerity plan of $800K, winning chance plan of $2.5M, and slam dunk plan of $3.5M are currently being reviewed. Stay tuned.
